An Event 17 Years in the Making
After much anticipation, years of tireless labor and countless highly caffeinated beverages, Curve Detroit has finally released a brand-spanking new website. "I never believed this day would actually come. This is a landmark moment in Curve's history," agency founder Amy MacIntosh said, wiping away tears of joy. In addition to radiant photography and witty copy, Curve's new website features a full portfolio, news updates and blog entries, which might even be updated regularly. "The website turned out alright," said Tom Zahner, Curve founder. "I would have liked to see more monkeys or zombies in it, but overall, I'm pleased with the end results." Cell Phone and iPods and iPhones, Oh My!
Seems today the entire world is wired -- iPods and cell phones have become must-haves for our everyday life. Lugging around all that technology gives Amy (and the rest of us) a new reason to buy accessories. Curve is thrilled to be working with one of the world's largest technology accessory companies, foneGEAR. In addition to stretching our creative wings with packaging design for over 600 items (including special editions for foneGIRL, tuneGEAR, NFL, RealTree and Professional Bull Riding), Curve's delivering some head-turing advertising and web designs for foneGEAR. Hip clients, funky products and an excuse to get our geek-on -- stay tuned for great things to come from foneGEAR and Curve!
No Bones About It
PAWS Benefit a Success Cocktail dresses, clinking wine glasses, fancy hors d'oeuvres and dancing -- at first glance, it may have seemed like a standard black tie event, but a closer look would reveal some very special guests -- 30 dogs! PAWS With a Cause, an organization that trains assistance dogs for people with disabilities, held its first "Voices of Independence" benefit. Nearly 115 clients, volunteers, staff and sponsors came out to support PAWS, raising more than $11,800. During the reception, keynote speaker Sue Thomas gave a humorous and moving speech about growing up deaf. "As an organization, PAWS changes people's lives," said development representative, Sue Brooks. "This event, and Sue Thomas' speech, were inspirational enough to change the lives of the people in the room -- and that's the most important thing." Curve, a PAWS supporter for the last two years, created all the creative pieces for the event, including invitations, save the date cards, commitment forms and tickets. Bite sized news nuggets Curve created a website for Detroit designer, Pelle Pelle, featuring its street gear and urban wear. Curve recently wrapped on a series of commercials for Boyne Mountain Resort, launching the company's new resort marketing campaign, "What Are You Up For?" Curve is in the process of designing new interior art for Olga's Kitchen inspired by the work of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Curve produced an eye-catching advertisement for Creto, which will run in Jobsite Magazine. Work is underway on the company's new trade show booth. Curve is working with the good folks at John Bailey & Associates to create the new web home of International Automotive Components. Curve is putting the finishing touches on a stunning book-brochure for Clarkston Capital Partners, an investment group.
That's Senior AD to You!
Curve Detroit is pleased to announce the promotion of Kristin Goza to Senior Art Director. Kristin, or K Fish as she's known to Curve insiders, has designed head-turning work for Sanders, Kaftan and Global Health among others. "Kristin is a top shelf talent," ravs partner Charlie Wollborg. "It's rare to find someone with her eye for design and head for business -- not to mention her weekly in depth analysis of Lost and Grey's Anatomy." Goza, who joined Curve in 2005, has taken an imperative role in mentoring and directing the creative department in order to fulfill the goals and strategy of the Curve's clients. |
