Charlie Wollborg Founding Partner, Chief Troublemaker Charlie has been kicked out of some of the best advertising agencies in town. With over fifteen years experience as a strategist, designer and writer, he has worked with brand name clients from General Motors to Blue Cross to Boyne Resorts. Most notably, he spearheaded the "My Saturn" owner loyalty efforts, Ford's first internet car sales and the relaunch of the Sanders Candy brand. Charlie is your idea guy. No one does a better job with big picture concepts designed to launch brands, make a splash and demand attention. He continually investigates what's now, what's new and what's next in marketing, as well as how it can benefit your brand. His campaigns have been recognized by the Detroit Creative Directors Council for creativity and the Direct Marketing Association for effectiveness. When he's not building brands, you'll find Charlie inspiring, educating and entertaining business audiences with his lively keynote presentations on social media, branding, marketing and motivation. He's earned applause and laughter at several Ignite events and recently took the second place prize at the PowerPoint Karaoke World Finals. Along with a few cool friends, Charlie helped bring the acclaimed TED conference to Michigan in the form of TEDxDetroit. He also carves out a little time for Motor City Connect, a Detroit-based social network and professional development organization he helped create. Charlie loves ice cream, downhill skiing as fast as possible and the feel of Lake Michigan sand between his toes. His dislikes include poorly designed billboards, speed limits and people who flick cigarette butts out the window. He's happily married to his unhappily married wife, Elena. They have two young sons with wild imaginations and boundless energy and one lazy cat. In a past life, Charlie was the lead singer of Brave New World and a terrible stand-up comic. He loves skiing, softball, hiking, tennis and despite his better judgment, the Detroit Lions. He dreams of Detroit as the alternative energy capital of the globe - transforming from the city that drives the world to the city that powers the world. He sees a day when America doesn't import a drop of oil. Click here and drop Charlie a line.
